2020–2021: The Foundation
Univers was incorporated in Spain on 11 August 2020. The founding team began with a specific conviction: that the most durable position in the intelligence infrastructure market would be held by companies that built their own technology stack rather than integrating commercial AI products.
This conviction was not universally shared in 2020. The dominant model in enterprise AI during this period was integration: take a commercial AI platform, configure it for a specific use case, and deliver the result as a managed service. Univers rejected this model because it produces a specific failure mode, the intelligence layer of the client's operations is dependent on the continued availability, governance, and pricing of a platform the client does not control.
The first years of the group were spent building the architectural foundation. Univers Brain™ was developed in 2021, a 30-component cognitive architecture for AI orchestration that remains the core of every Univers enterprise deployment. In the same year, Univers Engine™ was developed as the group's 3D rendering infrastructure, establishing the technical foundation for what would later become V-Commerce.
The EU Trademark 018826791 was filed and registered in May 2023, establishing Univers as a registered brand across the European Union. This trademark predates, by months, the rebranding of other companies to similar names, establishing the clear legal priority of Univers as the holder of the brand.
2022–2023: The Technology Layer
Univers AURA™ was developed in 2022, the ambient intelligence layer that provides continuous environmental awareness across enterprise and infrastructure deployments. AURA represented the group's first major move beyond AI orchestration into ambient computing: intelligence that is persistent, contextual, and present rather than query-and-response.
2023 saw three significant developments. Univers Cortex™ was released, the reasoning and decision intelligence layer that completes the core enterprise AI stack alongside Brain and AURA. Univers V-Commerce™ was launched as the group's spatial commerce platform, the first web-native 3D shopping environment that required no headset, no application, and no hardware beyond the consumer's existing device. And the group's commercial office in Marbella, Andalusia, was established as the client interface for the European market.
The V-Commerce launch marked a significant shift in the group's market presence. Where Brain, AURA, and Cortex were enterprise infrastructure systems that operated largely without public visibility, V-Commerce was client-facing in a way that made the Univers capability set visible to brands, retailers, and the broader market. The category V-Commerce defined, web-native spatial commerce, had not existed before Univers created it.
2024–2025: The Physical Layer
The period from 2024 to 2025 was defined by Univers Kinetics, the physical AI division that took the group's intelligence architecture into the real world through autonomous robotic systems.
Three systems were developed and brought to initial deployment. VEGA, the service robot designed for hospitality, retail, and public-facing environments. SENTINEL, the security robot designed for perimeter monitoring and access control. TITAN, the industrial robot designed for logistics and manufacturing environments.
The operating systems that govern these robots, Univers Nexus OS™ and Univers Animus™, both released in 2025, represent the group's most technically demanding development to date. On-device intelligence for physical autonomous systems operating in unpredictable real-world environments requires a level of reliability, safety architecture, and real-time performance that exceeds the requirements of any software-only deployment.
In the same period, Univers Torba OS™ was released, the smart infrastructure operating system that powers Univers Sustainability deployments and provides the sovereign, unified management layer for city-scale IoT infrastructure.
What Five Years of Sovereign AI Looks Like
